Back to the Sextant and Astrolabe Future

Kudos to the US Navy for thinking ahead by thinking behind. GPS is nice and accurate, but in case of a cyber-war where either the system signals, software, or even the satellite hardware itself is attacked, it would be kind of awkward for the Navy to not be able to sail its ships anywhere.

I don't expect that Navy ships will start actually using the old ways to get anywhere — but I expect at the very least it will give captains something new to drill their junior officers on … and someday that might just save their lives and that of their crew.
